Digital Sling Psychrometer Accessory - ARH4
The Fieldpiece model ARH4 Digital Sling Psychrometer Accessory Head measures both relative humidity and ambient air temperature. It calculates dew point and wet bulb. It’s great for calculating target superheat as well as logging %RH, temp, WB or DP over time. The head converts %RH, ambient temperature, dew point temperature, and wet bulb temperature to a voltage at a rate of 1 %RH or degree to 1mVDC and your reading is displayed on your meter. The ARH4 snaps directly onto Fieldpiece stick meters, data logger, electronic handles and adapters.
The ARH4 employs an advanced pair of sensors, a thermistor and a hygrometer, that sense temperature and moisture in the air. With built-in psychometric charts, the ARH4 calculates dew point and wert bulb based on these direct measurements. For the most accurate readings, expose the ARH4 to the air you are measuring for a few minutes so that the sensors can come to equilibrium.
- Remove protective cap covering sensor at the top.
- Connect to COM and Volts jacks. To use with any Fieldpiece “stick” meter, slide the head over the meter. For most other meters with mVDC ranges, use the Fieldpiece ADLS2 test leads or AHDL1 adapter handle.
- Select parameter you want to read on accessory head.
- Select mVDC range on meter and read parameter directly on meter.
About dew point and wet bulb
The "dew point" is the temperature at which water vapor condenses forming fog or dew. Wet bulb is the temperature measured after cooling by evaporation of water. If you know temperature and relative humidity, dew point and wet bulb temperatures can be calculated. The ARH4 measures relative humidity and ambient temperature. The ARH4 calculates wet bulb and dew point temperatures for you.

The thermistor and hygrometer are highly accurate and designed specifically to stand up to HVAC/R field service. Many competitive standalone psychrometers do not include calculations for wet bulb like the ARH4. Remote the ARH4 with our detachable test leads to isolate the area you’re testing and measure or log readings in hard to reach areas. Like all of our accessory head instruments, the modular design means it takes up less space on the truck while providing accurate measurements and calculations.
